Updating root zone file

Countries occasionally change their time zones, or alter the way they handle daylight savings time (DST).

From Oracle 11g R2 onward, new time zone files are shipped with upgrades and patches, but they are not automatically applied to the database.

If you don’t want to do this manually, with Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 it is possible to script this easily with Power Shell and create a scheduled task for it, see this Tech Net page for more information.
