Yes the pickups were very weak upon first playing which is why I installed Dimarzio's in it along with removing the badass and putting a standard P bridge on it. I cranked it thru my basement amp which is an Ampeg 350 , a Hartke 410 with horn and a Cerwin Vega 115 cab. I take it to the gig this Friday to put it thru the big test. I always hear people talking about "dead spots" on basses. I never had a bass with dead spots either in the 30 some basses I've had. _________________Rez(# 30916) '89 Power Jazz Bass Special-Bad Ass III, EMG P/J Project PBass-EMG PX, Schaller BM Light Tuner'05 Aerodyne JBass'06 Spector Legend Custom Neck Through VT Bass Hartke TA5000 w/XL Cabs(210, 410, 115)_________________Rez(# 30916) '89 Power Jazz Bass Special-Bad Ass III, EMG P/J Project PBass-EMG PX, Schaller BM Light Tuner'05 Aerodyne JBass'06 Spector Legend Custom Neck Through VT Bass Hartke TA5000 w/XL Cabs(210, 410, 115)I have a "Geddy Lee" bass and the serial # is s/n B009102 , neckplate "limited edition" and "crafted in Japan". Stroker Vance, do you have more information on the year it's been made?

If it sounds good on that stuff it's usually a keeper. I can remember an interview with Geddy Lee about how he could'nt believe "popular his bass was" and how it was only contracted to be a short 1 yr run of his sig bass that had now turned into an artist series that will remain until..?

(I also had one of the first year production model) The Sting bass too had the same basic agenda which also changed from a "Limited Edition" production run to a Artist series production run(Limited edition is a specified short run, Artist is not predetermined run time).

At guitarguitar, we have a fantastic selection of G&L electric guitars and basses. Visit your local store to try one in person or browse our entire selection right here online. G&L use the traditional two Tone control design to use a circuit called the PTB (Passive treble and bass).

With this handy circuit you get a master treble and a master bass control for cutting both of these frequencies.
